Understanding RV Hookups ππ
When you’re new to RV camping, terms like 30-amp, 50-amp, full hookup, sewer, and water can feel like a whole new language. Understanding your RV hookups before you arrive can make setting up your campsite much easierβand help you choose the right site for your RV.
β‘ Electrical Hookups
RV electrical hookups typically come in 30-amp or 50-amp service. Your RV’s electrical needs will determine which one you need. Always check your RV’s requirements before booking a site.
π§ Water Hookups
A water hookup allows you to connect your RV directly to the campground’s water supply. You’ll generally use a potable-water hose designed specifically for RVs.
π½ Sewer Hookups
A sewer hookup lets you connect your RV’s wastewater system directly to the campground sewer connection. Be sure to use the appropriate sewer hose and connection.
ππ§π½ What Does βFull Hookupβ Mean?
A full-hookup site generally includes all three:
- Electricity β‘
- Water π§
- Sewer π½
This means you can enjoy many of the conveniences of home without needing to disconnect and visit a dump station during your stay.
ποΈ Before You Book
Before choosing your campsite, check:
- What type of electrical service your RV needs
- Whether water is available
- Whether the site has sewer
- The site’s length and whether it can accommodate your RV
- Whether the hookups are positioned conveniently for your RV
Knowing your hookups ahead of time can make arrival, setup, and your entire camping trip at Terre Haute Campground a whole lot easier! πβ¨
